I flew through this book,( originally a YA work, I believe) and thoroughly enjoyed a 'ripping yarn' of gothic mystery and suspense set in Calcutta, India.
Twin babies are rescued from a pursuer bent on killing them; one is deposited in an orphanage , the other with its grandmother, where they remain until they turn 16,when their nemesis returns to seek them once more .
Throw in an abandoned railway station, ghost train ,and bunch of friends intent on discovering the mystery, and you have a good read for grown ups too.

Although I love CRZ, this book lacked a certain "je ne sais quoi" that I've come to expect from his stories... In saying that, the twist at the end surprised me no end. It's just a pity I nearly missed it!
