The plot was a lot different than I expected based on the book jacket, but I enjoyed the direction it went in! The only thing that I didn’t always enjoy was the writing. Sometimes it seemed so stiff and robotic like “yes, father, you were right” and the use of “ship” in that one chapter made me want to gag the author did not need to do that. I hate when authors try to use modern slang that younger people use and then use it wrong. Just don’t use it!!! Besides the sometimes weird and stilted writing, the book was a fun read! It did have a very satisfying ending for all the characters, though I did wish there was more Jackie. We got solo chapter in the first half for him, but then it’s like Rosen almost forgot about her own character or something. I think my favorite character was definitely Olivia.

Hm. I enjoyed this book but had issues with it. It started off good - very lighthearted, sister hood, suburbia vibes. I found myself really devouring the cheesy storylines lol. It was a little difficult to keep track of all the characters at first but that was my only initial complaint. Here is my qualm: the book touched on a myriad of strong themes (TW: infidelity, sexual assault, self-harm) but didn’t really delve into any of them. This book would’ve been a 5-star if it had given these topics the justice they deserved. Sometimes I felt like the book was throwing some of these topics in bc they are “hot” topics.
