I thought this was beautiful- gorgeous illustrations, and a good concept, if high. This may qualify as one of those picture books that will speak most to adults- especially the creative types who have big dreams that they're basically taught to give up on.

This book is written so well because I think every reader can have a different interpretation of the book. This is a book that you need to read multiple times!

Made me go "awww" at the end. Good story to talk about perseverance. Will read this to my students.

I could see this book being used in a classroom to encourage creative thinking. If we always worry about what others think of our ideas and keep them to ourselves, we are limiting ourselves. You never know what little idea can become the next world changing thing!

Great for an SEL lesson about fostering ideas. I love the illustrations and how the idea brings color to the story.

Love the way the story develops an abstract concept and how the illustrations contribute to the story--- the rendering of an "idea" and the way the color palette expands really add to the text.

This book is about a young boy who has an idea but isn't sure what it is so he ignores it. This idea keeps growing bigger but when he tries to embrace it, the other people make fun of him for it. He finally decides to fully acknowledge his idea and the results are spectacular. This would be a great book to teach children how to value their ideas. It also would have applications in art and the students can study the use of color in this book and its use in the book's meaning.

I loved both the illustrations of this picture book as well as the way its message was delivered.
It deals with an important topic, especially for children, and I thought it was clever how the pages went from grey to colourful through the course of the book to represent the growing imagination of the child.
Also, the Idea which is mentioned in the title, reminded me a lot of the fairy egg from the anime movie "Anthem of the Heart" which is a big plus for me.
