Took about 10% of the book to get into it — slow start but great ending. The twist!!!!

Where do I even begin?

TW: Child abuse, Child SA, Self Harm, ED, Suicide

This book follows the story of a woman who wakes up in a hospital but does not know why or how she got there. Her last memory is finding her twin sister dead on the bathroom floor of their shared apartment. But not everything is as it seems.

This book had me thinking so many things. At one point I thought things might not be real. I am giving this book a 4 because there was a point close to the end that I was ready for it to end because it was dragging however, the last 2-3 chapters though......I can't. That ending was crazy and I did not see it coming. It was an easy read and I got into it very quickly. I cannot recommend Lucinda Berry Books enough though.

This was not my favourite. It didn't twist like I hoped it would.

It was okay most of the book, but I absolutely hate the ending. It’s dumb and full of holes, and only exists so that the book can have a twist - it brings nothing to the story.

It was a good story line, but the ending could have been so much more. I've read around 4 of Lucinda Berry's books so far and this one is my least favorite so far. It was a super quick read, though!

1.5 The premise, positive reviews, and the number of reviews mentioning a wild twisted ending were intriguing, but I respectfully disagree. The plot felt forced and the setting stereotypical. Details about mental health, treatments, and professional boundaries were were inaccurate and elaborated. The characters were defined solely by their diagnoses or trauma, and had no other redeeming qualities. The ending was ‘meh’. Since I pushed through the book to get to it, I wish the author expanded a little more on that twist.
