This is definitely light reading. Fun, like tv.

In many ways predictable, but a good plot. I would say a solid B+

An excellent gripping story about a man wakes up in a train station to find he has lost his memory. The journey as he pieces together his past is well written and an enjoyable easy read.

It's been a while since I read a good Cold War Spy thriller, and this was a good one! It was slow, and you don't always know what's happening or why, but this is been set up real good. Main character Luke has discovered something, but now has losy his memory and must rediscover who he is, what happened and why it happened. It's sad, some bit are tense, but it's mostly challenging his entire personality. Very captivating and hard to put down!

I've read in a lot of places that this is one of Follet's weaker books, so I can't wait to read his best ones. I really enjoyed the 1940/1950s settings and the story while very predictable was interesting enough and moved at a nice pace.

Despite the fact that I had this figured out early on, it was still a really fun read. Cold War intrigue = good stuff.
