Plot-wise, this piece in the series was extremely weak. Emotionally chill entertainment wise it was great though!

3.5/5. I didn't like this one as much in the beginning, but the storyline grew on me as it continued on. At the end of Shadow Throne, the author added an epilogue that took place a year after the ending. The events in this book take place after the end of Shadow Throne, but prior to Shadow Throne's epilogue. Entertaining listen!

“You are wasting your strength,” he said. “This is not about the climb.”
“It’s always about the climb!” I shouted back.

six years later he's still the best person ever

[a:Jennifer A. Nielsen|3267859|Jennifer A. This book stressed me out because of the tropes/plot in it, but it was still good. Jaron made reading the book worth it.

I love this author and this series but adding on to the trilogy didn’t seem necessary. The story was fine but not nearly interesting enough for the length.

Grades 6 and up.

Such a good book! But I was seriously struggling for majority of it and needed breaks to finish.
Leave my Jaron alone people! He has been through enough!

I loved The Ascendence Trilogy, but really The False Prince was my favorite. This one is right up there with it. So fun.
