i love the format - there aren’t any specific chapters, it goes from quarter to quarter of a school year and whenever there is a change in topic it will be labeled with something that goes along with the topic

An emotional transformation read of highschool tragedy and the solitude of grief suffered in silence.

This book is. So. Powerful.

It's full of beautiful symbolism and metaphors and idioms etc etc. The first person pov ROCKS for this book, as opposed to a third person pov which would have made the book seem drier and created a more detached feeling overall.

Laurie Halse Anderson is astounding at dealing with unspoken issues that present themselves quite often in daily life, but yet are never talked about and normalized.

I strongly recommend this book for anyone who need someone to talk to but can't quite "talk".

I don't usually say this, but I much preferred the movie to the book.

I want to rate this a 3 to a 3.5, but remembering i am an adult reading a book for teenagers, it’s a 4. I also think this is one of the few times the narrator subtracted
