“This world is wrong.”

This is the best vol so far. This manga just gets better and better. But I’m really disappointed with the fighting scenes, some times I had now idea what was even happening or who hit who.

I really love that Kaneki tries his best to hold back when he is fighting the investigator (Amon). He gives into his ghoul but also holds on to his human side long enough to command him to and let him escape. It shows how strong he can be! And Touka does her best to defend Hinami but to save both their lives the girl has to do something that she hates. Because ghouls deserve to live just as much as humans, and be punished when they step outside the law too!

*cue jake peralta saying “guess who just got MURDERED?”*

This again can change so quickly but now... I don’t know what to think of Mado. Does he have some sort of hatred against ghouls that are not merely because they’re inhumane? The way he talks seems like he’s a reasonable person but he mercilessly kills ghouls that are innocent and doesn’t even bother to understand them, which makes him a hypocrite who is just as inhumane. what was his big deal with kagunes and quinqes? It’s like someone who’s greedy for money but technically he’s greedy for power because those weapons can kill just about anything. I’m so happy he died tho

While an action climax no doubt, Sui Ishida also used this as an opportunity to clarify his existential themes between contrasting societies, with sympathy served for both sides and our protagonist as the beacon of empathy that bridges them together. This was the first point in the series that marked a solidified interest in the characters and story, generating excitement in anticipation of what Ishida may do with the ideas that he is playing with.
