I’m pretty sure I heard about this book on BuzzFeed but I am so very glad I found it and the author! Sometimes in life you don’t need someone to tell you what to do, you just need someone who understands. I loved the colorful and creative charts with the stories interspersed in between. I wanted to take pictures of nearly all of them and post them on Instagram to share with everyone. Fortunately the author has an IG account where she shares a lot of her charts already. But I have the urge to give this book to everyone I know to be like “this is what it’s like!” Instead I think I’ll reread it often, take pics on my phone so I can view them often, and lend it out to a few family members.

The book is centered on the author’s chronic pain and her father’s cancer and death. It doesn’t get graphic but at times it can be difficult to read because her emotional pain is so deep. But there is an overall hopeful tone to the book
