I don’t get the hype, I was thinking of dnf-ing, but I continued. First half was sooooo boring. I mean the second half did get better, but I just didn’t really like the book. I didn’t really feel like I understood the characters even though it was dual pov, I felt like they were one dimensional and kinda plain, . I didn’t understand how they got together or why they were even together, THERE WAS NO CHEMISTRY.
Also Ronan was annoying me at the start cause he kept banging Sasha then leaving, like sir if u don’t come back. Then Sasha just kept letting it slide. I know he has trauma and stuff but it was annoying when he did that.
ALSO, I have beef with romance.io.
Romance.io said this book was 5/5 spice, that bitch liiiieeeed. Like I’m still looking for the spice

Reaper is another part of the series Boston Underworld, but which can be read as a standalone novel. It presented the history of the Irish mafia gangsters (info for those who have not read the first part of a series Crow).
Mafia is another theme which I love to read. I'm fascinated by the whole world, which has different rules and lifestyle.
„He’s deadly and quiet. Closed off and mysterious. He doesn’t talk like the rest of them, just for the sake of talking. But I know who he is and what he does.
The Reaper.
That’s what they call him in the MacKenna syndicate. The name speaks for itself”
Sasha is a stripper, who works in a club run by the Mob, and there she meets Ronan, who from an early age was trained to kill. The tragic childhood made him almost a machine. He is man of few words, mysterious, scary and dangerous. But still there is something in him that attracts Sasha.
“I will never understand what it is about this quiet,
enigmatic man that renders me completely senseless.
Ronan feels it too.
This explosive link between us.
All I have to do is enter his orbit,
and I'm a slave to his power.”
Their relationship with the beginning is a little … awkward (it's probably a good word) and at the same time intense. Due to his childhood for Ronan are foreign to positive emotions, so he do not know what to do with emotions and reactions that Sasha evoke in him.
„Few things can invoke strong emotions in me. I do not like emotion. I do not understand it. Attempts to understand it only result in frustration. For this reason, I stay away from anything that provokes emotions I don’t understand.
But death, that is something that I understand. „
„We’re oil and water.
We don’t mix.
I’m bad for him.
And he’s no good for me either, probably.
But I’m his, regardless.”
The history of Ronan and Sasha was thrilling and intense, sometimes even touching and sweet. Of course, there will be a large dose of violence and cruelty, so if you are not fans of such scenes is not the book for you.
I can not wait for the next dose of the Irish Mafia ... Ghost ... .Yay!

Amount of spice:🔥🔥🔥
Explicitness: 🌶️🌶️🌶️
❤️Inexperienced MMC
❤️Irish Mafia
❤️Possessive MMC
❤️THEY HAVE IRISH ACCENTS
❤️Unexpectedly Sweet
❤️Boston Setting
This was miles better than book one and it felt like the author was settling into the characters a little more. Both of the leads are so much more complex and loveable than the previous book. It was also surprisingly tender and sweet which is always surprising when it comes to mafia romance.
I was just a little bored by the end of this unfortunately and I have a feeling that each book in this series is going to follow a very similar formula because the three I’ve read so far have all felt very much the same. I wanted to binge the whole series but I’m already the tiniest bit over it.
CHECK THE CWs PRETTY PLEASE
I would recommend it if you like a mafia romance with a good dose of sweetness and a MMC that needs a little direction, if ya know what I mean.

I've been in a rut lately with the books I've been reading. And after this book, I can say... finally!! I really, really enjoyed this one. The couple's chemistry was sizzling. A meant-to-be couple. I did start with Book 2 first, the blurb caught my attention more, so I was out of the loop with some details. It was still easy to follow. I like the author's writing: flowed well, emotional, detailed, and engaging. I will begin Book 1!
