This was such an amazing book to finish out my reading challenge for 2017 with. It took me longer to finish than I would have liked, but that's college for you. This take on the murders of Jack the Ripper is so well done, and Maniscalco even has author's notes in the back to explain any discrepancies with history. Regardless of any stretching of the truth she may have done for this book, it's amazing and I love these characters dearly.

Also I'd go to war for Thomas Cresswell. He's definitely in my list of book boyfriends now.

Can't wait to get started on the sequel!

SpoilerI did not see the son being the killer! I thought it was the dad then thinking back I was like “oh that’s too obvious  wait a minute the son isn’t really a main character until after the killings wanting to know info so what if it’s him”. I NEED BOOK 2 like now plz

"If you can deal with blood and other horrendous things, a little tea and lace will surely be nothing."

Omg! I loved this book!! First of all, I love any fiction (and non fiction) involving Jack the Ripper, so this was right up my alley. The characters ...omgosh Cresswell *swoons* can I push Wadsworth aside and just take him? They are just perfect!

The author did a great job dropping me right into 1888 (which so many times have I not finished a book because I was only half transported into another time period.) I

The quest to find the killer had me wondering just as much as Wadsworth. Just when you think you figured it out then nope. The ending was an awesome surprise. Totally didn't see that coming. Super excited to have more Cresswell and Wadsworth in the next adventure. And I think I have a new favorite author. Yay!
