i started it in between studying for exams in february i believe, and i was reading a couple of chapters every night before i slept. at first it was certainly very interesting and i liked some lyrical sentences here and there but then my exams were over so my brain forgot abt it as it was connected with post study rest before bed.
when i continued reading again, i was off the momentum i'd say, so it was a little bit boring at times. the last few days i read and now I'm done and I'm rambling but a bit after the middle point it became SO intriguing i was hooked. i was so caught up in the writer's path as to who the most probable suspect was and i was scared it would be true, but the REVEAL was worse for my little heart:'((
BUT I REALLY LIKED HOW IT ENDED. and oh god that last page. LETS GOOO AUDREY ROSE AND THOMAS IN ROMANIA HEHDVSBJSKSKD!
Anyway what more. I liked the characters!! Their chemistry!! The mystery and historical accuracy!! It was really good. i will admit that maybe it wasn't amazing as a book for me? i think it'll be the case that I'll fall for the characters and the series in general, just like it happened with the folk of the air and shatter me maybe.
PS i don't know if i can restrain myself from starting the next book, i had PLANS and TBRS scheduled ughh

I went through and annotated and it gave me a fresh view on the book. I think I cried when I found out who the killer was before, but this time around I'd gone through all the clues and knew who it was by the end.
It being a historical fiction adds to the definition of the main character being a women, she's often looked down upon but she almost never allows it to get in her way.
And I have to say, I think I also fell for the love interest by the end. (though, maybe not book boyfriend worthy; Yet!)
It took me around 4 days to finish the book (while I read all of Acotar in a span of a week) so I'd say it is a slower read to really grasp every ounce of information.
I also loved that she adds information at the end of the book so you really capture what information she used to inspire her and be accurate.
Stay tuned for Hunting Prince Dracula, as Ill be rereading and annotating that one as well.
