This is a horrible cover, but a decent enough clean (but not religious!) regency romance.

A cute regency romance. I liked Lizzie and a Richard a lot. I also enjoyed the realistic build of trust and Lizzie calling him out for bring dumb. The issues with her mother/the duchess were a bit much for me. I felt like Lizzie wouldn't have been able to hide how the duchess treated her, especially from the entire family. Felt a bit forced. Overall pretty cute though. It wasn't very deep, but the writing is good and it's a fun light read.

I liked this story, but I was very frustrated through most of the book. There was so much miscommunication between the main characters that it became repetitious and boring. I wanted the story to move along at a quicker pace. It seemed to be going in circles most of the time.
Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and author for this ARC.
