I didn't think i would like it as much as i did! Feels like i'll never look at the ocean or sea in the same way i did before reading this book. Also found out that, surprisingly, i don't find marine biology that boring. Even though i liked it a lot, i missed clearer descriptions of how sea animals, which Dr. Aronnax saw through the windows of "Nautilus", looked like. There were a lot of information about their size, weight etc. but in my opinion, not enough about appearance and i couldn't really imagine them. The other thing that effected my rating was my disappointment of the ending. It felt rushed and i expected it to be more intresting/dramatic.

Jules Verne simply cannot hold my attention for love nor money. Having already read Around The World In 80 Days, most of this books underdeveloped characters felt like they'd just been transplanted from that. If I read it at publication the idea of what lay under the ocean would probably be fascinating, but in the present day it simply reads like a 350 odd page list of things that can be seen in or from a submarine
