I rarely listen to audiobooks. It's something I've tried and explored a bit here and there, but it's never really clicked.

This book was the very first audiobook I listened to and I decided to go back and listen to it again as I test out listening to books in the car. Even with rereading it the second time, I am blown away by the audiobook and the voice readers. I really think that's why I love this book enough to reread it (something I haven't done in a really long time).

I love the two major characters, find the cast of secondary characters to be intriguing (but not fleshed out like the main characters), and really enjoyed the world this was set in with its legends and myths and all.

I read this book for the first time July 2020. At the time, I was wanting to get back into reading at the synopsis is what prompted me to read it. I fell in love with the characters immediately. I was engrossed in the story from the beginning and this series kickstarted my drive back into reading. I am on my third reread through the series (and likely my last, for a while). The third reread of the first book was so fun. I was dragged back into this world, fell in love all over again with Laia and Elias and their relationship. The character development for these characters and Helene and going back to the beginning reminds me of their journey and how much each other characters will have to go through in the upcoming books.

Edit: Second time. The action was still as enthralling as the first time and there were still times where the twists in this novel still caught me by surprise. Enjoyed this book just as much as the first time!

This was an amazing fantastic magical tale, filled with so much myth, magic and great action.

The writing was smooth and effortless, creating vivid settings and smooth transitions from such descriptions to the action that took place. I loved the characters and how they were portrayed, even if the romance could be cliche at times there would be a sudden twist in the events that took place to change the dynamics of the relationship to make it something more.

I love the world building and the kind of mythical creatures this author chose to write about.

This book had a fantastic ending, leading nicely into what the second book will be and I can't wait for it.

Wow this book was amazing! I loved it. I really loved the switching between POVs. It kept me wanting more from the other person constantly.
