i thought the premise was really interesting and dani was a cool character to follow but the other characters felt flat and the story didn’t pick up speed till the last 100 pages. the romance was cute but i didn’t care about what was happening in the story. it’s worth a read if you enjoy dystopian type stuff but it wasn’t for me

A story of fighting back against patriarchal power and systemic oppression. The romance storyline felt cute but also a bit tacked on. I hope that the second book makes that feel a bit more intentional. Also, this book includes plural marriage as a negative thing to be fought against.
