Telling a story about a little penguin as well as introducing young readers to the various animals in the Antarctic, this piece is perfect for the inquisitive child in your home. Looking both at the independence of young penguins, the story talks about the final meal between a penguin and her parents before she leaps into the water to find her own way, coming across friend and foe alike. With a sprinkling of education throughout, readers will develop a better understanding for the world around them, even if it is a frigid land far away. Neo liked seeing all the animals in the pictures, as well as the short story that accompanied them. He asked about taking a trip to Antarctica, since it is surely not much colder than here some winter days. Add that to the bucket list!
