UPDATED REVIEW: LARA HAD HAS 3 MONTHS TO THINK ABOUT THIS SERIES!
Okay, time for a rant. A BIG one.
After is by far the worst series I've ever read in my life. No, I'm not exaggerating. It is honestly so, so true. It's just that bad.
Firstly, this flipping series ROMANTIZES A TOXIC RELATIOSHIP!
ALL throughout the 5 books, I was constantly screaming at Theresa Young to leave the awful, the idiot, HARDIN SCOTT. One day Hardin says he loves Tessa during a smut scene. The next time they get into an argument over not using a condom?!
This series is just ultimate LAMEO. One day they break up. Then they just CAN'T stop thinking about each other and have to have smut again. But then they argue again and Hardin/Tessa leaves. Now this is just the ultimate stupid. It's saying to young girls that a toxic relationship is OKAY?! IT IS NOT. PERIOD.
Secondly, the smut gave me trauma. Serious trauma. I think about the smut in this series almost everyday. Not joking.
THE GYM SCENE. JUST NO. Your girl has serious trauma from that scene. I can NEVER look at a mirror again in my life. Or a gym. That's probably why I hate gyms. After has ruined my life. I can still think of that horrible image from the movie in the gym. I hate it. I absolutely HATE IT.
The smut makes me 'uncomfy'. I feel disgusted just thinking about it.
The fact that smut is just so prominent in this story disgusts me. There's so much more than smut to a good relationship. Hardin and his dirty words. F* you stupid idiot.
Thirdly, the characters are CRAP. 'Hessa' - more like 'Messa'- thank you to that YouTube channel whos thumbnail said this. I appreciate your hate and am on your side.
Hardin is an idiot.
Tessa is an idiot.
Zed is an idiot.
About the only character that is good is the little boy Smith. He's actually OKAY.
Hardin is a manipulative idiot. Like, just STOP. There's more to your life than making a bet to take a poor girl's virginity and turning her whole life upside down. There's more than hooking up with a different girl each night. You are A STUPID PERSON. I HATE YOU. I cannot believe that this was a One Direction fan fiction. Poor Harry Styles. He did not deserve this poor treatment.
Tessa. Just STOP GIRLE. STOP GIRLE. WE ALL HATE YOU. Stop assuming a girl is a 'whore' or a 'slut' based off what they wear. Girle, we know. We know what you get up to in your free time. Stop thinking you're SO PERFECT. Accept the facts. You're not. Stop being so self-centered. Like there's 7 other billion people on earth. And your stupidness is not the end of the world. Just stop.
Zed. You're lameo. Lameo, LAMEO, LAMEO!!!!! You're just as disgusting for taking advantage of a girl who's father just died and try to get with her. Just stop. You're just as bad for being in the bet with Hardin. I hate you. You have caused me much pain that has ruined my life.
I hate all the characters. They're all stupid lameos.
Finally, this series is just so bad that I just don't know what to say anyone. It has ruined my life. I think about it every. single. day. of my flipping life. And I feel so disgusted just thinking about it. Anna Todd. What the FLIP FLOP DID YOU JUST WRITE?!! I cannot believe. Cannot BELIEVE. That over 1 billion people have read this series. I feel pity for these poor people who have had to suffer through the pain. I had to suffer through over 3,000 words of this stupid series.
People actually like this series?! Um, are you mentally stable or not?! This isn't okay.
This series has ruined my life. I wish I never read it. I hate it so much. I have spent the last half an hour writing this and I don't care anyone. Stuff you Hessa. Stuff you stupid smut. Stuff the whole 5 books.
I can't believe I wasted this much time in my life reading this series. I obviously just wanted to kill myself. I still regret reading this series. Probably will for the rest of my life.
I can't believe I spent $80 dollars on this series. I wasted some valuable money. And the fact that I annotated 3 books. I can't give them away. This series is just cursed. It is going to curse me for the rest of my life. It's like the devil for Hell come to kill me. It's like Satan but in book form. After is just so bad. So flip-flopping bad. It's the worst thing ever written. No amount of words can describe my hate.
I regret my life decisions. Hessa can stuff it. Hardin and Tessa can go DIE IN A HOLE. Bye, bye. We all hate you.
Anyways, if you made it through this like 1,000 word essay, thank you. Thank you for reading this.

I loved the After series so I had really high expectations for this one. I got a little disappointed, it was okay. I really liked that the POV’s is from several people tho!
BUT the epilogue was so so good!! Loooooved it!!

Questo libro è totalmente inutile fino alle ultime cinquanta pagine. Ripropone la storia di After narrata dal punto di vista di Hardin, saltando molte parti ed esponendo pensieri che si potevano benissimo omettere, già comprensibili nel romanzo principale. Purtroppo però la storia è organizzata in modo disomogeneo, che rende la lettura noiosa e caotica. Si salvano solo le ultime parti perché raccontano qualcosa di nuovo, ma non è assolutamente sufficiente.

There wasn’t much to this book. It gave a little background on some of the characters but I didn’t feel like it added a ton to the story.

I don't know if I should have read any of the others before this one (I didn't see anywhere stating that it's better to read them in order or not), but I just couldn't identify with the story. There were too many perspectives for me and everyone seemed miserable which isn't my cup of tea. It's not that I want everyone to be perfect and happy all the time, but they all just seemed really miserable and it just didn't keep my interest. Plus, I'm not into the teenage/young adult angst scene since I've been out of that age bracket for a while now.
