I thought this was super cute, but the sex scene was super weird and the Adam Driver worship took me out of the story sometimes!

Hypothesis: Despite not liking previously read fake dating trope novels, I may like this one.

250 page build up and a boring resolution.

Conclusion: Fake dating trope is not my thang

*edit to add*. Okay it was a little cute at times and I loved the protective part with Tom, but as with SO many of these contemporary novels, the lack of communication is incredibly frustrating.

Liked this book, but hasnt been one of my favourite reads so far. I found it quite slow initially and a little too much science jargon to keep up with or felt a little cheesy at times. I began to really root for Olive and Adam, and I would say the last 25% of the book was when the pace picked up and I couldent put it down!

Hypothesis: The further I stay from books based off of fanfic the happier I'll be.

Boy was I correct. The Love Hypothesis was.... Boring with a capital B. The only thing I liked about the book was Olive's anxiety about public speaking because I can very much relate to that anxiety. Also, I really liked how Olive got into biology research. Her backstory made her ambition of trying to get into the fellowship (? I say that as a question because I can't really remember.) so much more meaningful. But the setting? Not my thing. Adam? Annoying and bland as hell. Fake dating troupe? Been there, done that x100. Also, the fact that this is based on a Kylo Ren thing (fanfic) didn't help it's rating either. The stem elements were great and while I may be as dumb as a doorknob when it comes to chemistry and science in general I felt like the material was easy to read but to be honest, it contributed to the bore of the book.... who wants to read about tissue samples? Not me.

I also saw in another review that this doesn't have a good representation of asexuality and I was like, nope, not for me.

So glad to be done with this book.
