A critical read especially for those with a science background, describing how science contribute & perpetuate racism by arguing not only with the use of scientific findings, but also anthropological & socio-historical perspectives. Importantly, the book highlights how there were fundamental & ethical errors in our approach towards conducting research that employ race as a factor.

As someone from a life science background, it was eye-opening. From how studies were designed to the line of questions & eventual interpretations, it called for the need for scientists to be conscious of our very own racist notions; not to mention, it undermines the basis of scientific approach in general, hence, impairing the qualities/validities of scientific queries. Moreover, it highlighted the significance for active engagement in antiracist researching. I became more aware now, as a current grad student, on how our training is crucially lacking in addressing this problem. Hopefully, with this awareness, we can do more to tackle the issue of inequality towards the development of a post-racial world.
