This book was phenomenal and interesting in untold ways. I thought it was hilarious and interesting to see the family dynamic. While the ending was not the best that I've encountered, I look forward to reading more from the author. I'll be adding my full review sometime soon! This is also an AMAZING audiobook!

Too many outdated references, and the humor wasn’t enough to keep me interested. Too many bullying incidents and playing war with toys.

Fantastic book. It tells a really good story, with engaging characters and very good character development. There are so many elements that make for teachable moments while reading. Subjects range from history (obviously) to author's craft.

I have vivid memories of reading this book in my fifth grade reading class, that was taught by my mother. I remembered very little about it other than the fact that I loved it and this still holds true reading it know as an adult. It is a brilliant book that does not shy away from introducing difficult discussions to young readers and should be commended for doing so. It is an excellent book for any reader old or young.
