Another exceptional volume. This volume has one of the most explosive reveals and "twists" I have encountered so far in My Hero Academia. There is also some great character work for Shoto and Midoriya. This series is only getting better and better. I cannot wait for where it goes next.

Hard to follow at times but still an action-packed read!

OK, so I, like many people, called the Dabi reveal, but it was still very satisfying. I'm also liking how it feels like there were no real winners in these massive battles. The heroes kept Shigaraki from fully awakening (and very few named characters actually died) and some big characters hopped back into the action, but Shigaraki still has One For All and there was a lot of destruction. The villains have really destroyed the hero society, but
it cost them Twice and possibly Mr. Compress.

On a lighter note, the animal intro was silly and adorable.

!!!!

so much and yet so little happened all at the same time! i didn’t really care for the parts with toga and uraraka though. i felt them to be unnecessary. and also just some more love interest fodder that won’t amount to anything else. what a waste.

as for the big dabi reveal, its actually really strange how closely it resembles fics that wrote something along the same vein before this volume ever came out (including the original japanese chapters that were released before this english translation was)! i’ve also had an inkling that izuku would be able to communicate with the vestiges of past holders too so im glad that was the direction horikoshi seems to be taking this.

throughout all this, i can’t help but think of what all might and the students’ parents are thinking as the news is breaking on live television. i hope we get glimpses of it in the aftermath (if there is one)!

all in all, this gets 4.75 stars from me (:
