I think I'm the wrong audience for this nonsense.

Though I can see why it appeals to kids, I did not enjoy this at all. Probably good for reluctant readers.

I can see why the kids like these books. They are about two boys who live in a very large treehouse that has a room for their every desire. They are full of silly, ridiculous humor. There are no parents around to tell them what to do. The kids have absurd adventures (like painting their friend's cat yellow and naming it a catnary and it flies away) that they end up writing about so they can make money. My 6 year old granddaughter got this as her freebie at Barnes and Noble for completing her summer reading journal and has already bought the rest of the books in the series. Kind of crazy but books that work with the younger set!

There was a good amount of creativity and invention here but the tale just never really caught me up. Good for a quick and light read if you like a graphics.

Is this a book for me? No. Do I see why it is such a popular choice in school libraries and the like? Yes. Definitely hand this to your 2nd-5th grade readers who enjoy the off the wall humor of Dog Man and the like. Is it deep? No. Is it funny? Depends on your sense of humor. Does every page surprise you? Yes.

Two boys who live in a tree house have an incredible adventure while writing a book. There were so many different twists and turns that I wasn't sure what was coming next. I thought it was clever that many of the little adventures connected together. A great read for those looking for a quick, funny read.

Delightful little book. Very similar to Captain Underpants style. A perfect transition book from the graphic novels kids love so much to written novels. If you have a reader who is hesitant to pick up books with alot of words but loves comic books this it a great toe dip into standard books. Just have the second book on hand!
