this is like spun sugar. absolutely no substance, but it is very sweet. don't read if you want something with a semblance of plot, or real angst.

would read again when i need a pick-me-up

Mostly forgettable, but any discussion of historical mobility aids and views of disability delights me

I’m glad I gave the series another go. The first book, I REALLY didn’t like, and while this wasn’t my favourite book of all time, by the end, my heart feels full and I’m completely content with what I just read. I’m still most interested in Ben (was that his name, the man with crutches and a dream to dance again) because he seems so, so strong and I know he’s definitely struggling if no one has heard from him at all and it’s just made me so much more invested in him, and I didn’t even SEE him in this book, just mentions that he wasn’t available. God I’m itching to read it. It better not be the last book lol - YAY, just looked and he’s next.

I think I am now firmly decided that if a novel can be described as “cozy” it’s just not for me. The writing of this book was lovely, the characters were endearing but almost nothing happens. Slice of life novels are just not my thing, especially when every other chapter we have to have a recap of the nothing that has happened.

I wanted to like this book more than I did. It was honestly boring. We have a blind hero and a mouse heroine and they were both boring.
