The book was a good read and quite a concept. A mix of western and eastern storytelling, with memories washing over the reader as they are re-lived by the narrator, Leigh, after the suicide of her mother.

The repeated use of color, art, memory, love, and loss were certainly thought compelling as the narrator struggles to find peace in the wake of loss and a fracturing family.

However... The book failed to really grip me. It felt like it could have been fifty to one hundred pages shorter. I kept putting it down after 10-15 pages.

I would like to read more by this author, though!

I don't think this is what I thought it was going to be. I wasn't expecting the magical realism.

I've never seen something more accurate.

E o carte frumoasă, in adevăratul sens al cuvântului.

I loved the concept and the imagery, I just felt like it got a little lost in the middle. I'd still recommend it though!
