This was a miniseries set between The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones following Obi-Wan and Anakin on a mission. There were parts I liked, including Anakin questioning whether he wanted to stay with the Jedi. He brings up a lot of the issues most people have with the Jedi and it was interesting to see him do so, especially given what we know in the rest of the prequels. And there's a kinda uncomfortable flashback between Palpatine and Anakin ("I don't want to be a dictator" lol okay). It was good to see him and Obi-Wan interact as well as Obi-Wan wondering if he's failing Anakin (already). I didn't care much for the mission which is why I rated this low.

This is my first Star Wars comic and god did I love it! I genuinely adore & enjoy the comics and novels accompanying the movies and shows in Star Wars because it gives you a whole new perspective of some characters and there's so much lore in this universe that the possibilities of what you can create feel endless. I am such a proud Star Wars girlie and I LOVE it!!

The story was quite boring but for me the amazing artwork by Marco Chechetto easily earns whole 3 stars for this book.

I liked this collection a lot better than reading each volume individually. It felt a lot more cohesive. The art is very detailed and cool. However, one of the main selling points is that the relationship between Master and Padawan is fraught, and they "find themselves on opposite sides" of war. But their relationship never felt tense, nor were they truly on opposite sides.
Technically they were on opposite sides, but that doesn't really count because Anakin was kidnapped, and anyways, once they met up they decided to fight against both Closed and Open through peaceful tactics.
