Mini review: Earlier this month I read Santiago’s #WhenIWasPuertoRican, and naturally I wanted to read more! I picked up her second memoir, this one taking place in her teen years once her family has moved from Puerto Rico to New York. I listened to the audio in Spanish and LOVED it. Santiago lived in the same neighborhoods as my dad did in that same time period (again - ARE WE RELATED?!) so her stories & experiences rang familiar to me. Santiago is *the* author to start with if you want to read a PR memoir.
