Idk, I think it would have been enjoyable and decent enough to pastime if the pacing wasn’t weird like this because I’m failing to understand how this woman who seems to be running from the past and is in new in some town, can’t seem to “afford” to think about men, her words, on her second day after meeting the hero thinks about how it would be like to have seggs with him and within 2 seconds start dating this hero and later, after two kisses she’s in love with him too?? Nah math ain’t mathing here

I really enjoyed this one. I loved the chemistry between Harper and Max. Max is so sweet towards Sammie, Harper's daughter. This was such a sweet romance and I did not expect that ending. I'm looking forward to reading the next one.

I received an arc and this review is my own.

You know those books that you just love? No real reason, not because the storyline is this or that or because the writing is clever or whatever.. you just have this feeling about the book… well this one was like that for me.. I was bewitched from the first chapter on.

I love love love when there’s little kids involved because they can make any scene so much better with their adorable comments and I just go crazy for guys that instantly love the kid as their own.

This book is part of a duet and all through the book you’re waiting for the other shoe to drop along with the FMC only for it to happen in a cliffhanger at the very end… so please don’t get into this if you don’t like those 😂

Max is a puppy dog golden retriever perfect guy but when things started heating up I was surprised by his dirty mouth!

It had everything I love:
🌸 small town
🌸 found family
🌸 cute kid
🌸 lots of side characters for intertwined stories 🤪 (This is book 5 in a series so there are some obvious links to stories that have already been told)
🌸 a hot dirty talking MMC

I am so glad to have found this new author that I know I'm going to love to read more of.

I am so happy to be back at Badger Creek, I absolutely love this group of characters. The writing and storytelling these author give us always keeps me coming back book after book.
Seeing a different side of Max in this book has been fantastic, I didn’t want to put it down.

Like Max, I too was captivated immediately by Harper and her daughter Sammie (who is the most adorable, curious and fun little 4 year old). Harper has quite the back story, and your heart goes out to her. I loved ever ounce of strength she displayed from the very first page.
I enjoyed watching as Harper‘s personality and confidence really started to shine as her and Max got closer. The more comfortable, and as Max showed her he could be trusted- the more she opened herself up. Being able to relax, breathe and just let her self be happy was beautiful.

Max deserves his own little shout out, I don’t think I swooned so hard in a while, he is playful, sweet, supportive and overall wonderful book boyfriend material.  The way he cares for Harper and Sammie is the best.

The friendships really popped during this book as well-this is just a wonderful group that are really more like family. The guys are hilarious, and the girls are what we all should have!
Seeing them instantly take to Harper and Sammie warmed my heart, this was the exact fresh start they needed.

Let’s just talk about the cliffhanger we were left with! Shocking, heartbreaking and wonderful! As usual Claire Raye always leaves us wanting and needing more.
I can not wait to see what will happen in book 2 and how these two will get the HEA they truly deserve.
