I was ready to give this one 3-4 stars (that would be a first, I’ve rated all the avatar comics as 5 stars) because the ending felt rushed and I didn’t understand how the problem was actually solved. But then I got to the last page and realized how special this volume actually is, as it becomes apparent that
Spoiler it is the cornerstone for the legend of Korra!

There’s hints here and there
Spoiler for things to come in Korra
and I thought that was very cool. But then, what Katara says at the very end made me realize
Spoiler this isn’t any insignificant city, but none other than the future Republic City!!!!! Just wow!
I love how they showed the birth of the (chi-blocking) police, Toph using metal lines as tools and getting the idea, and so many other subtleties

Truly amazing!
