This book was a mission to finish. It’s a classic, but halfway through the adventures became repetitive and the writing dry. The audiobook helped me get through it though and once I got over the slump the book put me in, I genuinely enjoyed it and wanted to get into the LOTR trilogy. I have never watched the Hobbit movies prior to reading the book so I was surprised by how much they are different from the book. It definitely could’ve just been wrapped up in 1-2 movies for how short the book is.
