this book was intense (why did you read this Hannah, just cos someone told you to, fml), but I couldn’t put it down! What happens when people stop dying? This book has ‘death’ as the omniscient narrator akin to books like The Book Thief. Bit of an intense one, but an interesting look at society and how death is valued (eg. What does the Catholic Church do if there is no death, therefore no Christ figure to die and be resurrected?). Anyway this book was heavy, so be warned. The story structure reminds me of a mix of Frankenstein, The Book Thief, White Noise, and Memento (the film)— a perfectly crafted circular motion. Time to read something lighter now xx
