A fun read full of misdirection and mystery. Who is Secrecy (I have my suspicions)? And what does he/she have to do with the story? Is there going to be a love triangle between Liv, Henry and Grayson? Is there really a demon involved? I want to read the next two books and the first one hasn't even been officially released yet!

I love Gier's imaginative storytelling. I'm excited for the rest of this series.

This was kind of a mixture between The Raven Boys, Gossip Girl and Pretty Little Liars Season 2.
It was entertaining at times, but the characters were over all quite one dimensional and seriously lacked complexity, and the romance was nahhh (no chemistry whatsoever, tbh, I ship Liv with Grayson rather than Henry, but since I don't really care for either of them, it doesn't matter all that much to me.)
I'm still going to read the sequel that's already on my shelf (thank god I speak German), because I still enjoyed reading this to some extent.

Heerlijk even m’n jeugd ingedoken met dit boek, dat toch iets minder was dan ik me herinnerde. Het hoofdpersonage is ‘not like other girls’, en daarmee soms ook bijna anti-feministisch; jammer.

Gossip Girl with demonic rituals! What’s not to love?

I was delighted to see this second trilogy from Gier, following the fun of her Precious Stone trilogy, was being translated into English. While a very different topic than Precious Stone, this first entry in the Silver trilogy still shares some of the factors that I most enjoyed from the other. Once again, Gier has created a nice combo of typical teenage school life interspersed with supernatural themes. Liv is a fun main character who holds her own with the dream boys and has a great sister relationship with the younger Mia. It is a predominantly fun read, but definitely has darker twists, so it's not completely light-hearted. Very enjoyable, and I look forward to the next!
