Hilarious and moving at times, I really enjoyed his story and anecdotes. It was an excellent read! Full review to come in March as I barely even have the time to read lately and won't be able to review properly until then (cries in a corner).

A good easy light read. I love how he doesn't hold back on exposing his families silly idiosyncrasies. I really loved the mother in this. She's hilarious.. vulgar but hilarious if you can handle some lowbrow humour than this will get you laughing out loud.

Listening to the audio book version I found Benjamin Law's narration too dry for the light-hearted tone he was aiming for in this book.

Living in the USA, I had no idea who the author is. This was a humorous and insightful memoir of a young, Asian, homosexual man reflecting on growing up in his family. There are some chuckle worthy moments that we can either relate to (or, in my case) want to relate to - his mom seems like a kick in the pants. I expected to learn a little more about Australia than I did, but nonetheless it was entertaining. I think this might have been a fun graphic novel had he paired up with an illustrator. In my googling, I found there is an Australian TV show based on his life.
