I liked it! Sometimes I got tired of Daisy’s naïveté but that wasn’t a huge deal but ultimately i liked her spunk and joie de vivre. And I liked Matthews’s backstory. I LOVE the friendship between the women. Good spice too! My second fave of the series.

What an afterthought of a book! Worst one in an otherwise great series. More Lillian and west cliff than you’d think. Gypsy fortune means nothing and then everything gets tied up so easily at the end. Short conflict short resolution

Once again Lisa Kleypas writes a book that would be boring in anyone else's hands and makes it something tender and emotional and joyful to read!
I love the trope where one half of a couple has been obsessed with the other since they first met and Matthew and Daisy really bring it with this dynamic. Matthew's ability to see Daisy's whole and what makes her special in the face of a world and social circle where nobody else does is enchanting, and Daisy's willingness to open her mind to the person she never thought would be right for her is so sweet to watch. Sprinkled throughout with some classic Kelypas shenanigans (see: the goose, the lawn bowling) you get a clear picture of two people who have so much joy and energy and willfullness to share with each other.
Also, the first sex scene in this book is hands down one of the hottest things I've ever read. I was gasping out loud. You will love it.
