Oh man, it was great to have Ethan finally pull his head out of his butt and become less of the immature douche he's been channeling from jump. I still don't love this series - it's just not different enough and instead is exactly what you would expect if someone said 'fae world' to you (except for the fact that everyone continues to be like..... really straight and that continues to be weird af) - but this is the only time I wasn't actively annoyed after I closed the book. It's actually giving me hope for the next related series.

Wow, that was . . . full of emotions! I was angry almost all the time while reading it because of Keirran, but at the end of the book I was really sad and miserable because of his loss -Anwwyl. I wish there was another way to end it. As for Ethan, I adored his relationship with Kenzie, but wasn't quite satisfied. I really want to know what will happen with Kenzie's sickness, I hope Julie Kagawa will write a sequel or another series so I'd know what will happen to both couples, Keirran and Anwwyl, and Ethan and Mackenzie, for Julie always find a way to make everything better.

It was ok but didn’t convince me that the spin off series was needed

When I first started this series I was so excited. The "Iron Fey" books itself were amazing but "Call of the forgotten" truly disappointed me. I kept reading because Julie Kagawa is my favorite author. The first two books in "call of the forgotten" were horrible but the third one was amazing! I felt so bad for having a reading bump where I couldn't get myself to the book. The ending was simply amazing.

Eventually there were a few things I didn't agree with or which made me so confused about the story which is why I won't give five or four stars. It all went good but not enough to make it at the same level as "The iron fey".
