If you love historical fiction then this book would be of interest to you.
It stirs up many emotions when reading that you don’t want the story to end.

If you can get past the “drama” of the main characters, a drama that is decidedly Edwardian in nature (gossiping), it’s ok. The best part of the story is The Girl, and she’s treated as a third character at best.

I'm not sure what I am missing, but the plot went no where pleasant, and the two characters just seemed catty and out to destroy each other. The girl with no name, the purpose of her in the novel is puzzling to me, and I was an English major in college! I should be able to make sense of what the author wanted to convey, but I can't.

Historical fiction (early 1900s) set in Galveston, Texas -- certainly not something I'd read before! The setting was well-drawn, but the characters were not particularly compelling, especially Etta.

Wow, wild read!
Intensely flawed characters interacting in a climate and time with Way too many restrictions leads to quite the unpredictable story!
