Simply adored Jamie and Theo! They had chemistry right from the beginning and were way too cute

2.5 stars. This mm NA romance is not a terrible story but it dragged and there were distracting writing and editing errors. It's set in the US (in theory) but there were so many random non-american expressions that I started wondering if there was a Lake Erie in New Zealand, where the author is from.

So did I love this or did I LOVE this?

I read the synopsis and asked myself why I didn't pick this up sooner because it's the EXACT type of romance I love to read. Seriously, I would read 1000 books with this exact plot. Absolutely love that friends to lovers, figuring out our sexuality and feelings storyline. Love it.

Is this book literary genius? No. But did I read pretty much the entire thing in a day because I loved it so much? Yes. 5 stars. I really felt the character's chemistry, which I think is so important. A lot of times it just feels forced, but the obvious flirty banter in here was just delicious.

I wiiiiish it had been a bit smuttier because, let's face it, I'm a kinky bitch. There was smut, I just wish it had been a little more. But otherwise, beautiful. Perfect. Flawless. The fucking t-shirt oh my God, KILL ME.

Also I think Jamie is such a sexy name on a guy. Idek why I just love it.

This book? Made me happy.

Low-angst, humour, kindness, a perfect comfort-read. One of the best light friends-to-lovers stories that I have read.

The quotes opening each chapter and the banter between MCs are witty and funny. Theo is adorkably oblivious and his chemistry with James is almost palpable. Leone, Sean, Ben, Kyle and the mothers are marvelous characters too.

I have just one very little hassle with James, He gave me the feeling of being a somewhat older character, closer to 30 than to the 24 years old unveiled in the story. But this tiny point doesn't alter my rating at all.

Finally, I appreciate that the Zodiac side is amusing but unobtrusive.

Fabulous festive treat

The reviews for this from my Goodreads friends have almost universally been not only positive, but high scoring and now, having read it, I'm adding my own glowing praise.

This book is simply fabulous. It has everything I want to read in a romance story, two lovely, well developed main characters and a whole host of fully fleshed out supporting cast.
It has lots of humour, a tiny bit of snark, a lot of loving and plenty of emotions and it has salad sandwiches, the power of which should never be underestimated.

Do yourself a favour and pick it up, it's also a Kindle Unlimited read.

I really liked the story/plot of this one...but I think I would have enjoyed it more if I had read it physically instead of listening to the audiobook. The voice for one of the leads just didn't quite work for me and I think this might have been more of a 4 star read if that hadn't been thr case. It just took me out of the story and I never quite warmed up to it.

This was pretty adorable and funny! I didn’t completely connect with the story and characters, but I did enjoy my time reading it. Super quick read.
