This is the second audiobook I've listened to this year that was born out of a podcast that just sounded like a podcast, but slightly off. The info was interesting. It covered topics I am interested in (the creative process, how the TV sausage gets made, the Italian-American experience, etc). It just,  I dunno, it felt like a podcast, but kind of stilted?  🤷‍♀️

I think I'll just go listen to the podcast now. I have a feeling I'll like that a lot more.

A definite must read/listen for fans of The Sopranos. If you listened to the Talking Sopranos podcast then you've probably already heard a lot of things in Woke Up This Morning but also there are a lot of facts that were not talked about in the podcast. It's sad to hear them talk about of course James Gandolfini and Tony Sirico who passed after this came out. James sounded like such an amazing person and hearing the cast and crew talk about him solidifies that. I love how they were really like one big family that fought and had each others backs. I loved hearing about the filming of one of my favorite episodes, Soprano Home Movies. They were really throwing down!

Time for another Sopranos re-watch!

Ugh, as an audiobook, save yourself the trouble/expense and just settle in to the podcast. Michael Imperioli and Steve Schirripa are great, and the actual content is quite enjoyable for fans of the show. But it definitely loses something not hearing the actors give voice to their own words.
