good

This author is excellent at writing shifter romance. It never comes across as cheesy, instead it comes across as "normal" which I appreciate. I've loved this series and can't wait to find out what is next.

There were a few areas that I wished had been fleshed out, particularly the ending which felt rushed.

So his wolf isn’t crazy?  Or he is crazy but now he’s safe with family?  Or he’s not safe?  And I know he’s broken and all, but couldn’t he try to string a few words together?

3.5 stars -Darragh has a deranged wolf and a desire to stay away from his young mate, Mari, thus breaking her heart. After years spent apart, she is no longer the dreamy princess. I didn't love the OW drama, but overall this was a fun read.

The beginning was pretty sad because of the way Mari got rejected. At first, I was really mad at Darragh but after the rescue scene, I started to like him. Mari was pretty weak and whiny which I did not like at all. There should've been some groveling from Darragh's side but it did not happen and they jumped straight into being with each other after freeing themselves from the clutches of those hunters. If Mari was more smart and strong, maybe I would've ingonred the no groveling part but her constant display of weakness just ruined the story for me tbh. I have liked the other books in this series but this one somehow fell flat.
