I can’t remember the last time I was so absorbed in a book. Anytime I wasn’t reading, I was thinking about it, literally counting the hours until I could pick it up again. Just as good as the first time.

Enjoyed it as a teenager, wouldn’t read it anymore as a young adult

Two books in one night; I am on a roll here.

New Moon is the second book in the Twilight Saga, and I feel about it the same way I feel about the first. It's a hella entertaining story, though it's incredibly burdened by a series of glaring flaws (though those /are/ partially what keeps it so entertaining to read). I could probably never tell anyone that New Moon is an amazing book, but I still enjoy it, which is why I have to place in firmly with two stars - mostly for the entertainment value it gives me (even if some of it is of the laughable kind).

The best part of this book is the lack of Edward. Wait, no, I mean the Volturi. The Volturi are simply the best characters in the entire series, and this is the first time we get to see them (and thankfully not the last). Aro is Twilight's resident King of Ham(tm) and, boy, does he shine brightly in the one scene we do get to see him in.

The worst part was Edward came back. Wait, no, I mean not getting to see the rest of the Cullens for an extended period of time because Emmett and Jasper are my favorites, and having to put up with not having them for so long in the story.

Special award goes to Charlie for having to deal with Bella. The poor man suffers so much because his daughter is a royal entitled pain in the ass. Someone give poor Charlie a hug.

And, on our way out, we bid a fond farewell to Jacob's personality before his character assassination in Eclipse. Sayonara, buddy. It was fun knowing you.

I read this book after reading Twilight in just one day and utterly amazed at how enthralled I became with it and in love with the characters. I had to continue into the series to find out more about their forbidden and beautiful love.

When Edward left Bella I was in tears. Although I knew there were two more books to come and therefore they had to end up together, I literally felt the agony that Bella felt as he walked away at the edge of the forest. I felt the depression and pain as the book went on without Edward and the rest of the Cullens. I desperately wanted them back and as good of a friend that Jacob was to Bella, I hated him for giving her feelings of settling for him instead of the perfect Edward. I would wait for him an eternity. :)

Anyways, the end of the book was my favorite and the moments where she heard his caring and protective voice in her mind. It was so refreshing to have him back. I love the new twist the story took adding werewolves to the plot and the entire book kept me just as intrigued as the first Twilight and "thirsting" for more (no pun intended).

I will be reading the rest of the series with anticipation of what will come next in their relationship. Excellent book, amazing series.
