The story still kept me captured, but I wasn't as engaged as I was for Lies of Locke Lamora. Maybe it got too nautical and I got lost in the terms. I just remember having a slew of emotions and laughing at points while reading Lies, but not as much with this one. I'll still be reading the third book though.

Bit of a step down from book one, felt like a few too many threads got layed down early on.
Locke and Jean's characters and relationship are some of the best I've read though, and the plot is fun when it starts to come together.
