Another that I started years ago and finally picked up to reread and finish. Nothing spectacular but not a bad story.

I've been reading Nora Roberts' old books lately, and even being the great fan that I am, i have to admit that they weren't exactly all that good! but this one I actualy enjoyed!
i found the chemistry between the characters good, and for some reason, i liked slade too, so that's a bonus! so the book was a good read, although there wasn't much suspense, considering the creeper was kinda obvious !

i didn’t like how mmc created an opinion about fmc before meeting her. but then i got annoyed with fmc. she was specifically told not to talk to her associates alone to not to spook them but she did it anyway. “they couldn’t possibly be bad guys, i know them so well!!🥺🥺” i can’t begin to describe how stupid she was acting for the whole book.

No doubt this was the story by Nora Roberts that I most enjoyed so far, even though the romance continues to seem forced as in the other books I had the opportunity to read.
The ingredients are almost the same, a writer is looking for inspiration to finish his/her literary work (although in this book the writer is also a policeman), so he/she moves into the home of a member of the opposite sex to whom he/she feels attracted to. He/she fights against it, but the other character isn't indifferent to he/she qualities, leading invariably to sex and to the question: are they able to overcome their their uncertainty and social barriers in order to stay together? However, in this book we have some mystery, apart from that formula, and that's what pleased me most. I found it very neatly done even if it was of simple resolution. It's no Agatha Christie but it entertained me more than the novels I read before. There may be hope for this author and me.
By the way, just a question for anyone who is a fan of Nora Roberts. Does she only writes about authors? I found that romance formula in three books by two different publishers so far, it is exactly the same. Does she ever changes her characters jobs? O_o

Mais uma pequena história pertencente ao livro Do Fundo do Coração. Com a escrita inconfundível de Nora Roberts, adorei uma vez mais.

Could've been a 3 but the mystery dragged way too much.
