I enjoy this series so much!!

The rest of these series reviews are not going to be long, but I loved how the author makes the world feel so real even though there is magic in it!!
I took off .5 stars because sometimes Gillian could be annoying.

Hope you all have a happy and healthy day!

BYE!!

Just read this. Loved it. Anyone who love books like Harry Potter would like it. Book three.

I like Gillian. She grew in this book: she went from 'ugh, I'm a cobbler whose life is boring' to 'I think I can be something else and I can save people with the help of my friends'. She learned more about herself.
Characters:
- I liked Hayley. I hope we see more of her later on.
- I HATED Anna. What a little bitch. I'm the older sister - I don't fully understand the 'I'm in my older sister's shadow' thing. But still. To join up with the enemy because she felt so overlooked and unimportant? Wow. I mean, if your sister cares about you enough to get sent back to FTRS (Side note: awesome crimes!), ulterior motives aside (boring life, lack of friends from FTRS) it means she thinks you're important. I just spent the entire book hating on Anna, and thinking that while I understood and empathized with Gillian, and would have behaved similarly, I was still frustrated.
- Jax. Ahh, Jax. I ship him with Gilly. :) He's kind of awesome. :)
- Maxine. She was cool. I liked Peaches.
- Wilson, because we're on the topic of familiars: a good device for Gilly to realize things about herself, like why being small, sneaky, and overlooked is a good thing sometimes, along with a lesson in humility.
- Kayla. I liked her, even though at times her "I'm kinda selfish" attitude showed through. She's been growing on me throughout the series. That said, I like Jocelyn better.
- Jocelyn: bitchy but lovable. Not afraid to rebut Gilly's ideas and defend her family. Showed spunk. Someone I'd like to have on my side in a fight, and not just because of the magic powers.

3.5, maybe 4 stars. Good storyline but Anna was super sucky and they didn't make the muffin antidotes.
