I was torn on this book and how to rate it. It is maybe a three and a half, but it is not a four. Although I love these books they are not great novels.

If you need mindless humor and a guilty laugh in spite of your self these are the books for you. They never fail to amuse me terribly. Thank you for the fun trip.

The first time I tried to read this one I gave up on it. I really think you just have to be in the mood for these books. They are super formulaic. I can't remember a book where Stephanie didn't get kidnapped. The story really isn't going anywhere, but mostly it's a fun read.

I love Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series. I love the crazy characters, crazy situations, humor, Stephanie's love interests, and finding out how many cars Stephanie will destroy in any given book. I love it all so much that it's taken me sixteen books to figure out that there's a basic formula to all of these books and they've lost their unpredictability. Capture some FTA's (hilarity ensues), meet up with Ranger or Morelli (romance, or romantic tension ensues), go to mom Plum's house (pot roast and coconut cake ensues), go to the funeral parlor (Grandma Mazur antics ensue), reach the end with the character going no further than she was in the beginning of the book, but I'm craving the next book because I want to know what happens next. It's a sick cycle I'm on and I have to give Ms. Evanovich a hand for getting me so hooked on the routine!
