Omegaverse sometimes have a bit of sexism because males are generally alphas, but this book went several steps further. Not only do the females in the pack hold no power, but Leila doesn’t even shift. At no point do we get her POV (or anyone’s) of her as a wolf. Then, when someone targets the pack, only the males in the family (and extended family) are ever included in planning, even though there is a new female deputy working to catch the person, and Leila is just as capable as her brothers. In Alpha’s Savior, it made sense that Hayley didn’t help because she was human. In this book, the author had an opportunity to write a strong, capable, wolf shifter heroine, and instead wrote a damsel in distress. Also, female wolves are called she-wolves (ugh) and male wolves are just called wolves. Sexism at its finest.

If you can put alll that aside, this still wasn’t the best in the series. I get that fated mates don’t need to fall in love, but these two actively avoided each other so we don’t get to see them together for more than a few hours in a few scenes before committing for life. Their avoidance was frustrating.
