Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC of this title. Joy Harjo is perhaps our greatest living poet & this memoir did not disappoint. It was so fluid and poetic, actual poetry intermingled with poetic prose that didn't follow a linear trajectory. I learned a lot about Harjo and felt like I was sitting beside her while she told me tales from her life.

I don't get poetry a lot of the time but I loved this. I liked how it was part prose and part poetry and I liked how time wasn't linear

I really wish there were more poetry audiobooks of Harjo's in the library stem. Reading this memoir just underlines how important it is to hear her poetry aloud.

Really enjoyed the way it oscillated from poetry to prose. There were times when I was left wanting more memoir and less Life Lessons but she's always great.
