After having perused the multitude of shining gold lined pages containing literature laden with Victorian verbiage, I’m inclined to say that the capital sense of accomplishment due to the brevity of the chapters in this book is quite pleasing. It is a fine book to read but the aforementioned Victorian verbiage does evidently lay heavy on one’s head during one’s reading of it. I shall soon endeavour to once again view the pictorial adaptation of this book as the previous time I was inclined to do such a thing, over a twelve-month ago, I must say I found it rather disagreeable.

i find no point in rating a book that’s as iconic and as old as this one, but just know you can’t out do the doer!!!!

In general, the language was pretty hard to comprehend. If I hadn't seen the movie prior to reading I would have had no idea what was going on half the time, but you get a new appreciation for the movie after reading the book. Took me a while to get through because of the difficult language. Not the best book to read if you're looking for an easy read or are just getting started in reading classics. Maybe I missed a few details but the whole relationship part of the story between Lizzy and Darcy happened in like the last 75-ish pages so a lot of the book seemed just like filler.

Rosamund Pike is an excellent narrator! She brings so much to this story.
