This was my first dark romance so maybe the genre just isn’t for me but it felt awkward and weird. Only thing that saved it was the last third of the book. Definitely check trigger warnings, though they may giveaway the major twist.

This is the worst book I’ve ever read. I do not understand why it has so many 5 star ratings. 

It is fast-paced and a page-turner, so at times I couldn’t put it down because I wanted to know what would happen. That’s the only “positive” thing I can say here. Characters are one dimensional and awful. The book is explicit, predatory, racist and homophobic at times. I understand that these were specific qualities in specific characters, but it was done in a very cringey way.
