Cute and funny. A pure children's book that will make you smile and you'll want to reread over and over. Bravo!

A cute story for the younger children. This would be a great discussion starter on what makes a dog a dog or a bunny a bunny. The questions were cute and would make any child giggle.

Very cute, but not appealing to my 7-year old. It would be good for a younger demographic, it just needs a little more for me.

A bunny is trying to be in this dog book, but the dogs are not convinced. There is bathroom humor. And in the end, they're all friends.
The artwork is adorable and was created with ProCreate and Photoshop. The text is set in Crayon Hand, so it looks hand drawn, too.

This Is a Dog Book! So how did a bunny get on the cover? Or is it a bunny after all...?
A cute, quirky, playful book with creative and expressive illustrations that make great use of shading. Sure to be fun for reading aloud and doing fun voices with little ones, and all of it encompassing a positive message about identity and acceptance.
Thank you to NetGalley and Kids Can Press for the advance review copy.

Just by the cover depicting a bunny in a Where’s Waldo-style shirt and the title exclaiming, “This Is a Dog Book!” you know you are going to be for a fun experience and author Judith Henderson doesn’t let us down. The illustrations by Julien Chung are very cute.
The story is simple. What looks like a bunny but is claiming to be a dog wants to be in the dog book. So the dogs ask him all kinds of dog-oriented questions. Bunny momentarily gets stuck on the “smelling poop” part of the program. If you’ve ever walked a dog where people do not clean up after their dogs, you know that your dog is going to find that “delicacy.”
The one very important question that arises is: are you a good friend? Thus the moral of this story. You may look or be different, but as long as you can be a good friend, you can join us. A lovely message that needs sharing.
This Is a Dog Book! is geared toward 4-7 year olds.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is a Dog Book! by Judith Henderson is a great, comical book about a bunny trying to convince a whole bunch of dogs that he is a dog. He goes through a series of tests to determine if he is a dog and if he can be in the book.
I found this book funny, light and a great read. It's highly amusing and easy to follow. Not only that, but it kept me interested the whole time with the funny plot and simplistic illustrations. They work really well with the story!
Children and adults alike will enjoy this fun book. It's relatively short but it's lots of fun!
Four out of five stars.

This is a book about dogs. Why is there a bunny in the book about dogs? A bunny cannot be in a dog book. Well, maybe the bunny is actually a dog! Let's test to find out.
Another winner from Kids Can Press, this fun adventure reminds kids that it doesn't really matter what you look like as long as you can be a kind friend. The pictures are crafted in a fun multi-media style, and the text is perfect for emerging readers. It really made me smile, and I can't wait to share it with my students.

I'm still not convinced the bunny is a dog, but it was a cute grayscale book with some red throw in every now and then. I love the fact that they go through each thing that dogs do to test his dog skills.
