Omg why why why! Why did the author have to do this? Will was perfect! Will was the best! Will and Lou were as perfect as perfect can get! I mean I knew I was in for a ride when I started this but not this! I felt so so bad for these 2 more for Will but definitely don't feel like I would want to read the sequel to it. But amazing writing! The very fact that the readers feel this way shows how great the author has written and how relatable these characters were! If only the ending was different!

Really a good book. A very fast read and an emotional one at that. I was afraid it would be hokey and parts of it were but it overcomes those parts and will make you genuinely care about the characters. You will cry. I promise.

Loved this special love story and especially that it is intertwined with the controversial concept of 'The Right to Die'. Looking forward to the author's sequel. I am quickly becoming a great fan of Jojo Moyes!

I don't know, maybe because I'm older than the evident target demographic of this book, or maybe because I actually was a caregiver to a wheelchair-bound person who was my the center of my universe, but I think the book is...okay.

Actually, the story itself is really good-- the plot is interesting and keeps you reading, and the characters (for the most part) are believable. I thought the narrative could have been more intelligent and there were a few turns of phrase that were very redundant, but perhaps that was because of the point of view.

My main problem with the book is the takeaway-- and believe me, there's a "moral" to this story. To avoid spoilers, suffice it to say that the message of the book and the actions of the protagonists do not mesh. In addition, the ending--while purported to be incredibly romantic by the younger set-- was infuriating to me.

Unlike other readers, I didn't cry as I read it...and I'm one who can lose her $&*! over a well-timed Hallmark commercial. I was emotionally invested, however; I think the predictability of the story kept me from becoming overwhelmed with emotion.

I do love the "insider" glimpse the book provides the reader into the world of those living with disabilities. This is something very much needed, since the vast majority of the population are not privy to the myriad of frustrations, big and small, which at times seriously limit options for the disabled. The points of the story dealing with these difficulties are extremely realistic and well-researched.

I disliked the shift in narrators, however, particularly because it didn't seem to serve a purpose nor did it happen consistently throughout the story, only at random intervals (at least as far as I'm able to discern).

All that said, the book is definitely enjoyable (at least up to the end) and well worth the short hours needed to read it.

My general feeling about this book:

“And then, just like that, my heart broke. My face crumpled, my composure went and I held him tightly and I stopped caring that he could feel the shudder of my sobbing body because grief swamped me. It overwhelmed me and tore at my heart and my stomach and my head and it pulled me under, and I couldn’t bear it. I honestly thought I couldn’t bear it."

My best friend recommended me this book. Every time we say this book in a store, she told "You NEED to read this, it's so beautiful!".
And oh my god, it's even more that beautiful. It's sad, realistic, funny, heartwarming, ...

I read the ending of this book on the train. Which was a very bad idea, because I just couldn't contain my tears.

You're now probably thinking: 'Why the hell are your giving 4 stars then?!'. Well, because I didn't really liked the start of the book. I almost gave up with this book, because it was sooo sloooow. The first 100 pages were ... not boring... but not excited enough either.

But otherwise, I really recommend this book!!

“Push yourself. Don’t settle. Wear those stripy legs with pride. And if you insist on settling down with some ridiculous bloke, make sure some of this is squirreled away somewhere. Knowing you still have possibilities is a luxury. Knowing I might have given them to you has alleviated something for me.”

Decently written, light read. I didn't blubber as advertised but did tear up a couple of times.

UGHHH I can't read this. I just can't. I don't like Louisa and I don't like the writing and I skipped to the end and it's like WTF. Just no.
